Read this first. HTTrail can decrypt HTTPS traffic. You may use it only on devices, networks, and traffic that you own or are explicitly authorized to inspect. Using it to intercept other people's communications without authorization may be illegal. By using HTTrail you accept full responsibility for how you use it.

1. Acceptance of these terms
These Terms of Use ("Terms") form an agreement between you and Anusoft ("we", "us", "our") governing your use of the HTTrail application ("HTTrail", the "App") and this website. By downloading, installing, building, or using HTTrail, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2. The App & your license
HTTrail is a native developer tool that combines an intercepting HTTPS debugging proxy with an API client. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App for lawful purposes.
Where HTTrail's source code is made available to you under a separate open-source license, that license governs your rights to the source code; these Terms govern your use of the App and website and apply in addition to it. Nothing here is intended to limit rights granted to you by an applicable open-source license.
3. Acceptable use
HTTrail is intended for legitimate software development, testing, debugging, and security research on systems you are authorized to access. You agree that you will only use HTTrail to intercept, decrypt, inspect, modify, or replay network traffic where you have the lawful right to do so. In particular, you agree not to use HTTrail to:
- intercept, monitor, or decrypt the communications, accounts, or devices of any person without their knowledge and authorization, or in violation of any wiretapping, computer-misuse, privacy, or data-protection law;
- access, alter, or interfere with systems, networks, or data you do not own or are not explicitly permitted to test;
- capture, store, or misuse another party's credentials, personal data, or confidential information;
- circumvent security controls for any unlawful purpose, or to facilitate fraud or unauthorized access;
- violate any applicable law, regulation, contract, or third-party right.
You are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of HTTrail — including installing a root certificate authority and routing traffic through the proxy — is lawful in your jurisdiction and authorized by every party whose traffic you inspect.
4. Certificate authority & security risk
HTTrail works by generating a root Certificate Authority (CA) on your device and asking you to install and trust it so that HTTPS traffic can be decrypted. You acknowledge and accept that:
- installing and trusting the HTTrail root CA reduces the normal TLS protections on that device and enables decryption of HTTPS traffic on it;
- you should install the CA only on devices you own or control, and remove it when you no longer need to capture traffic;
- you are responsible for safeguarding the CA's private key and any exported certificates or captured data, which may contain credentials and other sensitive information;
- you assume all risk arising from installing the CA and from operating the proxy.
5. No warranty
HTTrail and this website are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that it will meet your requirements, nor that defects will be corrected. You use HTTrail at your own risk.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will Anusoft or its contributors be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) HTTrail, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to HTTrail will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the App (which, for a free app, is zero) or USD 50.
7. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Anusoft and its contributors from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with your use or misuse of HTTrail, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of any third party.
8. Intellectual property
The "HTTrail" name, logo, and branding are the property of Anusoft and may not be used without permission, except as needed to refer to the project. All rights not expressly granted to you are reserved. Any open-source components included in HTTrail remain the property of their respective owners and are licensed under their own terms.
9. Third-party services
When you use HTTrail to send or proxy requests, you connect to third-party servers of your choosing. We are not responsible for those services, their content, their availability, or their handling of your data. Your interactions with them are governed by their terms and policies.
10. Privacy
HTTrail processes data on your device and does not transmit it to us. For details, see our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of HTTrail after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Anusoft is established, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and you agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located there for any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or HTTrail, except where applicable law grants you the right to bring proceedings elsewhere.
